Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Suter is one of 34 players invited to the U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Orientation Camp, which will take place Aug. 17-19 at Chicago.
Only five of the invitees have Olympic experience, and eight. Including Suter, were members of the U.S. national team at the 2009 World Championships. Other notable invitees include Mike Modano, Chris Drury, Zach Parise and Patrick Kane.
“I’m very excited,” Suter said, according to the Predators’ website. “Obviously I have to work hard this summer, make sure I’m ready to go a little earlier than usual, so I can have a good showing at the USA Camp in August.
“… The process isn’t over yet. I need to get off to a good start next season – and with that we need a good start in Nashville. That will help all of us (from the Predators) who are trying to make the Olympics.”
