Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Gage will be doubtful for Sunday’s game at Baltimore, Coach Jeff Fisher said Friday.
Gage, who leads all Titans wide receivers and is second on the team overall with 12 catches, could be in danger of missing his second game in the past three weeks after missing his third consecutive day of practice Friday with a right knee injury.
Gage missed a game two weeks ago against Houston with a groin injury, but had five catches for 92 yards last week against the Minnesota Vikings.
Fisher indicated that if Gage is unable to play Sunday that the injury should not linger past the Titans bye week, which comes next weekend.
“I have no concerns with him beyond the bye week,” Fisher said.
Fisher also indicated that backup cornerback Reynaldo Hill would be out this week because of a hamstring injury suffered against the Vikings.
Running back LenDale White, out the past two days with a sore shoulder, practiced fully Friday, as did quarterback Vince Young.
Fisher said he saw progress from Young this week in his first week back since injuring his knee in the season opener, and that he has not yet made his decision about whether Young or Chris Simms would be the second-string quarterback against the Ravens.
“I’ve seen what I need to see and I was pleased with his progress,” Fisher said.
Fisher also said he has no concerns about the availability of punter Craig Hentrich, who punted before Friday’s practice and pronounced himself past the back spasms that prevented him practicing this week.
“I feel fine. Everything that I was having problems with on Wednesday and [Thursday] are basically totally gone,” Hentrich said. “My back spasmed up and I just had trouble for a day. It was just one of those flukey things. It’s one of those deals where you bend over and you can’t quite get back up. The guys in the trainer’s room diagnosed me with a case of O-L-D.”
