Current Tennessee Titans and former Vanderbilt University tight end Brandon Barden was arrested Saturday and charged with driving under the influence in Lincoln County, Ga., according to a report from an Augusta, Ga. television station.

The 23-year-old was arrested after he failed a field sobriety test following a single-car accident that injured two passengers, both of whom refused medical treatment at the scene.

An officer on the scene reported he could “smell a strong odor of alcohol” on Barden, following the accident sometime before 4:30 a.m. Saturday. The report said a vehicle driven by Barden flipped one and a half times and landed on its side after it went out of control and hit a drainage ditch.

Barden was released on bond.

An undrafted free agent, he spent the first 14 weeks of 2012 on the Titans’ practice squad before he was signed to the active roster for the final two contests.

He was second all-time among Vanderbilt tight ends with 107 career receptions and 1,234 receiving yards.

He was a high school quarterback who led Lincoln County High School (Lincolnton, Ga.) to Class A state titles in 2005 and 2006.

Do the Titans have some unwritten rule that in order to be a Titan in good standing, you must have at least one run-in with the Police?

It looks like the Titans have a lot of company.

Quick, call "Titans All Access" and arrange a video op at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital for Braden. Some autographed football for sick kids will have the troubled tight end ready for LP Field Ring of Honor. One regular season touchdown means all is forgiven.
