The Tennessee Titans didn’t waste any time adding to the roster on Tuesday.
One day after the 136-day NFL lockout ended, the Titans announced the addition of 14 non-drafted free agents. It will help bulk up the Titans as they can fill up to 90 roster spots for training camp, which begins Friday at Baptist Sports Park.
The group includes five wide receivers, two offensive linemen, a defensive end, a tight end, a cornerback, a punter, a fullback, a linebacker and a long snapper.
The Titans also stayed local with the pickups of longsnapper John Stokes (Vanderbilt), wide receiver Joseph Hills (Tennessee State) and punter Chad Cunningham (Tennessee).
It is believed to be the first step of many free agent moves for the Titans, who are trying to land a veteran quarterback and possibly a linebacker. The club can begin signing veteran free agent contracts after 5 p.m. on Friday. The Titans’ first practice is set for Saturday.
