Standout cornerback prospect Leodis McKelvin of Troy, arguably the top defensive back and return man in the NFL Draft, will visit the Tennessee Titans next week, his agent Hadley Englehard confirmed.
McKelvin and Tennessee State’s Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie are regarded as two of the top cornerbacks available in the 2008 draft, a draft that is considered not to have a lot of first-round picks at the position.
By most projections, the McKelvin could be a top-15 pick, while the Titans stand at 24.
McKelvin’s value is enhanced by the fact that he is also one of the top return men in college football. He had seven career touchdown returns on punts and kickoffs for the Trojans during his college career.
McKelvin had just four career interceptions at Troy, but some of that was due to the fact that opposing quarterbacks rarely threw his way.
The Titans are allowed 30 pre-draft player visits not counting local players, also hosted Rodgers-Cromartie as one of their local visits.
