Jermaine Beal and A.J. Ogilvy, Vanderbilt’s top two scorers this past season, both have been invited to participate in the 2010 NBA Las Vegas Summer League.

The league includes notable first-year pros such as John Wall, the first overall pick in last week’s draft, and other young stars including Michael Beasley (Miami) and Stephen Curry (Golden State).

Former University of Tennessee stars Wayne Chism (Sacramento) also is set to participate.

Beal, who averaged a career-high 14.6 points, will play with the Dallas Mavericks. A native of DeSoto, Texas (a suburb of Dallas), he is listed as a shooting guard after having been the Commodores’ starting point guard.

Ogilvy, who left school with one year of eligibility remaining, will play with the Chicago Bulls along with former VU star Derrick Byars. Ogilvy averaged 13.4 points and a team-best 6.2 rebounds in 2009-10.

The league begins play on July 9, when Beal’s Dallas team will face Denver. The first contest for Ogilvy and Chicago is July 13.
