This Thanksgiving, Vanderbilt will take its turkey with a side of basketball.
The Commodores open the Old Spice Classic on Thanksgiving Day against Davidson (1 p.m. ESPN2). The matchup will mark the second of four games on Nov. 22 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. The tournament runs through Sunday, Nov. 25, and features
Vanderbilt, Davidson, Marist and West Virginia in one bracket and Clemson, Gonzaga, Oklahoma and UTEP on the other side.
The Commodores and Wildcats will meet for the third straight season. Vanderbilt thumped Davidson 80-52 at home in 2010 and edged out an 87-83 road victory last season. The Commodores hold a 4-1 advantage in the series.
Vanderbilt never has played Marist but dropped a thriller to West Virginia in the 2010 Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
Over the last five years, the Commodores have won three tournament titles, most recently the Legends Classic last year in New Jersey.
Vanderbilt went 25-11 last year, won the SEC Tournament championship and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. But the Commodores lost their top six scorers and will be without any seniors.
