Vanderbilt’s first two games of the 2010 season will take place in the evening, the Southeastern Conference office announced Wednesday.

The Commodores’ season-opener Sept. 4 against Northwestern will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at Vanderbilt Stadium. The contest will be broadcast Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast.

Their first conference game, Sept. 11 against LSU, will begin at 6 p.m. at Vanderbilt Stadium. ESPNU will show that one.

Vanderbilt then will face Ole Miss in the SEC-TV game of the week, 11:20 a.m. on Sept 18 in Oxford, Miss.

Start times for the remaining nine games on the schedule, including contests at home against South Carolina, Florida and Tennessee, will be determined at a later date by the conference office in concert with its television partners.

The game against Northwestern will be debut for interim head coach Robbie Caldwell, who assumed that role last week when Bobby Johnson retired after eight seasons.
