Built 61 years ago, Vanderbilt’s Memorial Gymnasium is the oldest arena in the Southeastern Conference.

Next month, some who starred there will reunite for a special couple hours of basketball. On Aug. 3, the Commodores will hold their inaugural Alumni Game at Memorial Gymnasium.

The event, comprised of four 10-minute quarters with a running clock, is free to the public. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

“I’m excited and honored for everyone to come back and be together as a Vanderbilt basketball family,” coach Kevin Stallings said. “We are going to have a great time, and I hope that our fans will come and celebrate the event with me and our players, both past and present.”

In addition to the game there will also be shooting and dunk contests. An autograph session will be held in the practice gym at approximately 1 p.m. with past and present players.

The 2012 SEC championship trophy will also be available for photos.
