Will Witherspoon and the Tennessee Titans have agreed on a three-year contract, making him the team’s first free agent pick up of the off-season.
The contract is valued at $11 million, according to a league source.
Witherspoon, 29, was released last week by the Philadelphia Eagles and will be penciled in as a starter at outside linebacker.
Witherspoon totaled 92 tackles in splitting the 2009 season between the St. Louis Rams and Philadelphia Eagles.
He was originally with the Carolina Panthers, beginning in 2002.
The Titans have issues at linebacker with Keith Bulluck injured and headed into free agency and David Thornton coming off pectoral surgery.
VY to be richer guy
As expected, Vince Young will become $4.25 million richer on Wednesday, as his roster bonus is due.
Coach Jeff Fisher indicated at the NFL Combine at the end of February that the Titans were prepared to pay the bonus due Young, who regained his starting quarterback position after six games last season.
By paying the bonus, it means Young will count $14.2 million on the books this season, but that point is somewhat moot because 2010 is now an uncapped season.
Young has two years remaining on his contract.
Booooooo, Not impressed! I bet they could have kept Bulluck, for the same amount of money..
Welcome aboard, Will!

The best of luck to Will and hopefully he can help the Titans win some games especially this years Titans Eagle game and teams like the Redskins and Cowboys who the Eagles faced last year.
